Polygraph testing is available in Miami Dade County, Broward County (Fort Lauderdale) and Palm Beach County at no additional charge. For testing outside the tri-county area, additional charges may be incurred for travel expenses.
Polygraph testing will be used to determine the truth in cases accepted by Mr. Wiegmann. The following are examples of the areas where testing can be performed:
1) Fraud or Theft by employees or others: The Employee Polygraph Protection Act (EPPA) allows testing of employees where the test is administered in connection with an ongoing investigation involving economic loss or injury to the employer’s business, such as theft, embezzlement, misappropriation, or an act of unlawful industrial espionage or sabotage. Polygraph testing is also allowed for security services and instances where drug diversion is suspected. 2) He said/she said: Verifying the truthfulness of statements
3) Criminal defense cases; Federal or State
4) Clearing the wrongfully accused
5) Drug Use
6) Sexual or other types of abuse
7) Employment/security screening for certain employers
8) International cases of theft or misconduct (Translators available)
While each individual case will be examined to determine the best polygraph approach, all polygraph testing will use validated techniques included in the APA Standard of Practice effective on January 1, 2012. Most polygraph tests conducted by Mr. Wiegmann will use the Comparison Question Technique commonly referred to as a Zone Comparison Test. There are several types of Zone Comparison Tests that have been validated and are acceptable for use. In certain limited instances, examinations may include guilty knowledge testing, peak of tension testing or relevant/irrelevant testing.
